A Woman Worth Meeting
With my love of documentaries and finding out "how it's done" (I used to love Mr. Rogers when he'd show how crayons are made or other stuff like that), I bought the Beyond Gates of Splendor DVD. It's the story behind the movie the End of the Spear and there's interviews with the five widows of the missionaries who were killed in Ecuador in 1956. It was interesting, in particular, to see Elisabeth Elliot talking about when God spoke to her and Jim about their relationship. I had read that in her book Passion and Purity and it's amazing that after more than half a century, she is still moved by that experience. I wish I could meet her somehow.
