I've been watching a bunch of videos in the nooma series lately. The last one that I watched was Breathe. There were a lot of cool things to think about and I don't want to just copy the transcript but there is one thing about it that I've been thinking about. When Moses asks God what His name is, He answers "LORD". In Hebrew it's four letter which when read are Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey and some pronounce it as Yahweh. Some traditions don't even say it because it's considered so sacred and holy. Some of the earlier rabbis believed that these were the sounds of breathing. Rob Bell asks the question, "Is the name of God the sound of breathing?" Is our every breath speaking God's name? Later in the video he says "When a baby is born, what's the first thing it must do, or this baby isn't going to make it? Does this baby have to take a breath or say the name of God?"
If you want to check it out, here's one link to it. http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=4657662595934098105&q=
