Ben always takes vacation the week of his birthday. This year, the plan was to go up north to visit his Mom, come back on his birthday leaving Ian there to visit. We would then have a day to spend together and have a date then Ben would get his wisdom teeth out. Once we got up north though, Ben's Mom planned fireworks for the evening of Ben's birthday so we couldn't leave until the next day. By the time we got home, we just had time for some errands and we were tired from the long drive.
Ben got his wisdom teeth out bright and early the next morning and has been in some pain since then. We did manage to have a birthday get together on Saturday night though with trifle for a cake. (He can't chew) Ian came home on Sunday and life has been getting back to normal ever since. Although Ian did switch to a big-boy bed on Tuesday night and so far it's been going well.

Glad that the bed switch is going well. He looks very proud!
He's so excited about the new bed, although now he's trying out getting up and playing.
